Breakfast in Brixton

If you're a breakfast or brunch lover, then look no further. Breakfast in Brixton has a serious munch for all you hungry belly people. 

This menu brings the Caribbean culture, enriched with all the flavors you need whilst vibing to good music. This is a black-owned establishment, based in Streatham Hill, SW16 London.  

The menu caters for everyone and has halal, vegetarian and vegan choices. I went for the "create your own" option and I built my breakfast from a choice of six different items, which cost £15. I went for eggs, turkey rashers, chicken sausage, hash browns, fried dumpling and plantain. The dumplings were so fresh and soft. Then of course I had to add the French toast on the side, this did not disappoint! Shout out to my waitress for putting me on.  

The most popular dish is "The Brixton Boss Box" which is £16. You've most likely seen it all over Instagram and it comes with the whole works. We also had a fruit bowl side, which was so beautifully put together, the presentation of everything lived up to the real-life expectation. I would allow up to £20 - £25 per person for the average spend. This place is perfect for a a brunch date with your girls, for families or a cute spot with you babe. It is family friendly and children are welcome. I like the fact that there is also a kids menu if you are planning a family day out. I also had accessed that the restaurant is disability friendly and could lead it's self to wheelchair users.

I love the fact that this place is super local, easy to get to, and is a great representation of the culture and diversity of south London. Not only is the menu authentic, but the food also actually tastes as good as it looks, staff are really friendly, and the music is well matched for the restaurant's vibe. 

Overall, I would recommend this place an 8.5/10 based on taste, value for money and location. I will definitely be returning and trying their cocktail menu. I would suggest you book in advance because this place is really popular.
